Apple September Event Set for September 9: What Is Confirmed and What Is Still Rumored

Apple confirms its September 9 event

Apple has scheduled its next special event for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, placing the company’s biggest hardware presentation of the year less than two weeks away. The event begins at 10 a.m. Pacific Time at Apple Park in Cupertino and will be streamed through Apple’s website and the Apple TV app.

The invitation carries the phrase “Surprise and shine,” but Apple has not named the devices that will appear on stage. The date and broadcast details are official; product names, specifications, prices and release dates circulating before the presentation remain unconfirmed.

iPhone 18 Pro models lead expectations

Industry reporting points to a premium-focused iPhone launch built around the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Reports have also suggested that Apple may split its phone release cycle, holding lower-priced models until a later date rather than unveiling the entire generation at once.

None of those lineup decisions has been confirmed by Apple. The company’s event page does not mention the iPhone 18 name, and the invitation offers no direct specifications. That distinction matters because pre-event reports often combine supply-chain information, analyst forecasts and speculation from accessory makers.

A foldable iPhone could become the headline

The strongest source of interest is the possibility of Apple’s first foldable phone. Multiple reports expect a book-style device that opens into a larger display, potentially positioning it above the Pro models. Suggested names such as “iPhone Ultra” are also unofficial.

A foldable launch would move Apple into a category already established by several Android manufacturers, but its approach to the hinge, screen crease, durability and software layout would determine whether the device changes the wider market. Until the keynote, the existence of the product, its design and its price should all be treated as expectations rather than confirmed facts.

Apple Watch and AirPods may share the stage

Apple’s September events typically extend beyond the iPhone, and updated Apple Watch and AirPods products are among the devices widely expected this year. Reports have mentioned a new Apple Watch generation, possible Ultra updates and additional audio hardware.

Apple could also use the event to announce release dates for the operating-system updates introduced at its June developers conference. Those updates include changes across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV, with Apple Intelligence and its new Siri capabilities forming a central part of the company’s software strategy.

How and when to watch

The keynote begins at 10 a.m. in California, 1 p.m. in New York and 6 p.m. in London on September 9. Viewers in much of continental Europe can watch from 7 p.m., while the broadcast begins in the early hours of September 10 in several Asia-Pacific markets.

Apple’s official stream will provide the first definitive answers about the product lineup. Until then, the safest conclusion is limited but important: the September 9 event is confirmed, a new generation of flagship hardware is expected, and the much-discussed foldable iPhone remains the biggest unresolved question.
